A new sticky chocolate cake recipe

Sticky chocolate rose cake I found this recipe in one of my recipe folders, torn out of a magazine so Im not entirely sure where it originated from! Its supposed to be baked in a 900g loaf tin – I can tell you not only does the mixture not fit in the loaf tin but in fact makes a large full size cake, I was hoping for a much smaller cake as there is only two of us lol! Looks like there will be some major sharing with others…. fancy a taste??

Sticky chocolate rose cake

250g Butter
225g Soft brown sugar
3 Medium eggs
150g Golden syrup
100g Melted dark chocolate
1 tbsp vanilla paste
225g Plain flour
1tsp Bicarbonate of soda
25g Cocoa
250ml Boiling water

Pre heat oven to 190/170 fan. Mix the butter and sugar until fluffy followed by the three eggs one at a time followed by the melted chocolate, vanilla and golden syrup.

Mix the dry ingredients in a separate bowl (flour, cocoa and bicarbonate of soda) then add a third at a time to the wet mix followed by half of the boiling water. Repeat this process until all of the ingredients used up. Pour mix into a large buttered and lined loose bottom cake tin. Bake for 45 minutes until the skewer comes out clean. (mine took around an hour)
